Saving Private Ryan

I post this last year but I don't think the blog was good enough so I wrote it again =))

I read the book and watched the movie but i don't know which came first.
The story started with the intense battle at Omaha Beachead Assualt(simply a battle).
It is a very good book. It was set during the Invasion of Normandy in World War II(2). The plot of the story is about a Private(soldier) called James Francis Ryan is lost and there was a sqad(team) looking for him. Ryan and his three brothers was in the war but sadly both his brothers has been KIA(Killed In Action). The search become more hard when they croosed over Normandy territory. The reason the commander has ordered the team to save private Ryan because of the sake of Ryan's mother(she recieved three notices in a day about the death of three brothers and a notice about Ryan being MIA or missing in action).
The team wasn't happy about this because why would we risk 8 lives for 1 but they went on the mission anyway. The team was lead by Captain John H Miller(Tom Hanks). Vin Diesel was also in the movie but sadly he was wounded by a sniper and die. The funny part in the book was when they found a soldier who was also called James Fredrick Ryan. When the captain talked about the news of his brothers and the soldier replied that they were in kindergarden.
Overall, this is a very good book, it uses a lot of military language, which was suitable.

The Curious Incidnet of the Dog in the Night-time :)

This book is about a 15-year-old autistic boy whose name is Christopher Boone. Christopher is a genius at Maths. He loves prime numbers. He hates yellow and he would never eat anything that is yellow.. Christopher was told by his father-Ed Bonne that his mother has died long ago, so he now lived with his father.
Christopher discovered dead body of Wellington, his neighbour's dog, speared by a garden fork. Christopher was very suspicious about the death of the dog. He decided to investigate the dog's death, despite his father's order to stay out of other people's business. Through his adventures, he decided to record his experiences in a book called " a murder mystery novel." During this investigation, he met peple who he has never encountered, including people who lived on the same street as him.
Ed, Christopher's father has found out about the book, so he hid it from Christopher, after a fight going on between them. Looking for the book that his father had hidden, Christopher has discovered a trove of letters which his mother wrote to him, dated after her supposed death, which means that his father has lied to him about Mother's death.
Why did Father lied to him? Does it mean Mother is still alive? Who killed Wellington??
If you want to know then well, read the book!! It's a really good book and I Love It! :)

KISS

This book was written by Jacqueline Wilson. Jacqueline Wilson’s book was quite interesting and fun and this was in my expectation.

This book is a story about two friends who used to play with each other since they were very young and their friendships begins to break up. Do they going to recover their friendships?

Sylvie and Carl, who are the best friends, they played for a long time and call each other girl friend and boy friend and they have their own story that they wish to publish this book. They act those stories to make a smooth story but since those stories were made since they were young, those stories are too childish for them as they are teenagers.

As they grow up and up, they begin to change as they try to make other close friend. Carl tries to make a new friend called Paul, who’s good at sports and Sylvie try to have another friend called Miranda who’s a rich girl with many friends. One day, Carl, Paul, Miranda and Sylvie go bowling and Sylvie is jealous with Paul as they are quite close each other. Sylvie’s friend, Miranda tries to know many things about Carl and come to Carl and Sylvie’s glass house. Glass house was the secret play of Carl and Sylvie since they were young and they kept a lot of reminiscences on there. On Carl’s birthday, Miranda gives him a present of the glass toy which Carl loves a lot. Miranda invites Sylvie to her house and they get closer to each other.

One day, Sylvie, Carl, Miranda and Paul went somewhere together and they are separated into Carl and Paul, Sylvie, and Miranda. The day after, there was a big accident as the glass house is collapsed and Carl gets little bit of injury. Sylvie and Miranda take care of Carl carefully and Sylvie realizes their friendship. Sylvie and Carl realize that they really love each other and end their fantasy story with this. ‘And King Carlo and Queen Sylviana will always live together and love each other.’

This book had quite interesting story and I liked this story as they are best friends.

This book is in the library so you can borrow here

Twilight Sucks

Twilight is one of the worst saga in human history, because it is to predictable and the villians are'nt much of bad guys because of there crazy ideas such as drinking bellas blood and drinking bellas blood. She isn't the only human in the book.
It has people wondering what happen when they already knows what will happen.
The book shows a bad influnece to small children who read this book ,such as my very small sister. The book discribes the bad things about blood, suiside and things which shouldn't say.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
This book is a funny and wonderful book. It is about how kids with sibling suffer more that normal kids.

The book talks about how to enjoy having siblings, such as having a party when your parents away and covering up for them.

This book is a very addictive book even if it has 300 pages; it still makes you want to read more. “I know this because i was caught in the addicting web like a spidder catching its flys."

The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan

This is the third book of Percy Jackson & the Olympians. Percy Jackson is a half-blood – half human, half god, whose father is Poseidon. This year is the third year being a camper in Camp Half-Blood, where the half-bloods get trained for the real life. Grover, his friend satyr, makes an urgent call to Percy, Annabeth and Thalia telling that he found two powerful half-bloods, so they are on the way.

When they reach there, they find not only the half-bloods, but also falls into the trap which Kronos, the Titan lord hoping to overthrow the Olympians, set up. As a result, they lose Annabeth and return to Camp Half-Blood.

With the Hunters they met when they lost Annabeth, Percy goes onto a quest to find Artemis and Annabeth, while preventing the fall of Olympians. When they reach there, they find out that the sky is under Artemis, not Atlas. They go on a fight against Atlas and the army of Kronos, and manage to make Atlas go back to his place.

I found this book quite interesting, especially the part where it says that the Gods of Olympus are still alive. The story matches perfectly into the real life, making me think that the story is true. The story moves fast, making your hands go wet. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. I think everybody should read it!!!!!!!!!

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

*By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle*

The book "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" is a complete edition of all-time released Sherlock Holmes' stories and adventures. When I started to read this book, I didn't expect it to be interesting for me as I was never that kind of detective fan. But as I started reading through the chapters, my passion for book genres has changed a little. This book of Sherlock Holmes completely dragged me inside its stories, keeping me there, till 30 pages were read at least. Each of the story was totally unique, leaving in me different feeling after each read story. After each story, I kept on being surprised how Sherlock Holmes, with his companion Doctor Watson, solved unsolvable mysteries. But, of course, unsolvable only from our point of look. I would recommend this book to everyone, especially then to adults as sometimes, I had to read some of the stories twice and occasionally thrice as they were really difficult to understand. So as I have just written, if you are above the age of 13, sometimes 14 years, I would warmly recommend this book to you.

The Godfather- Part 1.

The Godfather is a crime book which was written by an American Author called Mario Puzo. It was published in 1969 and attracted a lot of success and awards. It tells a story about 4 Mafia families living in eastern America who hated each other so much that no one in each family could talk about the tradition, value and background to the others. This is called " Omno Fostro"-The rule of silence.

Going deeper into the book, there was a family who had a father called Don Vito Corleone, who was respected and treated like a monarch. This is because in a mafia family's tradition the leader or father, if you like, has to be at the top, so therefore, all the power and things he has done have to be succeded by his son/daughter. Don Vito Corleone had a son called Michael, who engaged to an American woman called Kay Adams, and the wedding between two took place successfully with a lot of relatives and other people involved. Corleone's counterpart, Luca Brasi also joined the wedding. Brasi was a man who was always seen to be an unemotional, cold, massive- skulled with a lot of cunnings and tricks. He looked squat, small in appearance like Charlie Chaplin and a lip with a lifeless, pale veal colour. Don Corleone sometimes said that he was still afraid of his appearance when someone mentions about Luca. So, after the wedding finished, Corleone invited Brasi to his room to talk about businesses between two people. Like the book has said, Corleone was the "king" of the family, so Brasi, after talking to him, had to hug him in a nice, respectful way and kiss loyal, admiring kiss on his hand. Then, Brasi went out of his car and went home.
This book actually has 3 parts in total. However, if I summarise all details of the book it would be very long. So next week I will write about part 2 and tell you more exciting details. Even though I have just read one part of the book, I really like it. The plot is believable, logical and authentic. The characters in the book seem to act professionally. There is a film version of the novel so I would like you to buy a DVD and watch it. Thank you.

Wolf Island (Book 8 of The Demonata Series)

If you haven't already known, this series is all about demons, werewolves, and magic. Personally, I like this series very much.
Firstly, I like it because I love the cliff-hangings-I think every good book must have cliff-hangings that leaves the reader hungry for more-and this author provides and excellent source which will leave you glued in your seat and hungry for more...
I also like this book because of all the actions-I prefer books with lots of actions. There are a lot of killing demons and being killed by demons. The author has a great imagination on how to describe the demons as horrendous creatures and magic as a great aspect of life and how it could ruin a person's life. (Just like Grubbs)
Unfortunately, the only thing I don't like about this series is that it isn't scary. Don't believe the back cover when it says "Warning: This book is extremely scary" or something similar to that. This book's genre is more like action.
And now, I'm going to fill you in about the plot. The plot of Wolf Island is as followed...
The werewolf curse of the Gradys are returning with a vengeance and it is stealing Grubbs Grady's humanity. In Wolf Island, Grubbs and his allies will venture into an island full of werewolves called "Wolf Island" in order to find the connection between The Lambs and The Shadow. The journey is full of peril and Death is never out of reach. Can Grubbs come out alive with his humanity intact? Read the book for more...

The Ashleys

The Ashleys
Melissa de la Cruz

The Ashleys got everything. Looks, money and popularity. They rule Ms Gamble's Preparatory School for Girls. The reason why they are all called The Ashleys is because the 3 girls are all named Ashley; Ashley Spencer, Ashley Alioto (A.A), Ashley Li (Lili). Lauren Page has gone to the same school with them all time and she remembers how they bullied her everyday since prekindergarten. But Lauren has totally changed. You can name it a makeover. A 500 dollar haircut along with her shiny new Chanel spectator oxfords. Lauren's plan is to get along with The Ashleys and destroy them. Slowly. Look out Ashleys, there's a new name in school. Enjoy!

---

I really LOVE The Ashleys series. Its just like reading 11 year olds, just like you, behaving like girls from 90210. And yes, Lauren does become one of The Ashleys, but not for long. At the end of the book, there is an unexpected twist. This book is full of surprises. And if you like reading Gossip Girl, you might want to read this book! Basically, all books by Melissa de la Cruz are AWESOME. Totally addictive.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

this book is boring because the films is SO much better because the film is easier to imagine what to think and creates more suspension. This is my opinion if you want to argue that book are better than film I'm free at 6pm to 7pm. All Harry Potter fans may disagree but I think Harry Potter book are boring because I hate wizardry, I don't know why, I just do. By the way the movie also sucks because the 6th one (I think ) was the best out of the rest.

BEWARE KILLER TOMATOES

This book is writen by Jeremy strong. I've read this book in a day and I still enjoy it.
This book is about a young boy called Jack, he is having his days in the hospital and he got bored of sitting in the bed and look outside the window. One day he finally was able to get out of the hospital! But not for long! haha poor Jack. His families were taking care of him and he was nearly dead because he was soooooo bored. One night at about 3:00am he couldn't sleep because a girl called Kirtsty was talking to her self by changing her voice and it was helerious.
I loved reading this book and i liked the title of every chapter because it started with the letter "HOW" e.g. how to not score a goal. I how you can have a try and read it it's awesome!

The curious incident of the dog in the night time :D

Author: Mark Haddon

Christopher, the main character, discovered the dead body of his neighbour's dog speared by a garden fork and decided to investigate the dog's death. He decided to write a book about it, a "murder mystery novel". His father found out about the book and hide it. When Christopher tried to find the book, he found out that his father lied about his mother's death. And it's his father who killed the dog when he was angry with Mrs. Shears, Wellington's owner.

Christopher lost trust in his father and flew to London to find his mother, who is now living with Mr.Shears. When Christopher arrived, his mother was very happy and she couldn't believe that his father told Christopher that she was dead.

Christopher wanted to return to Swindon to take his maths A-level test and his mother left Mr.Shears because of the argument over Christopher. His father tried to be friend with him but Christopher was still very terrified of his father.

I think that this book is very interesting and everyone should read it..!!!

Angel Uncovered

Angel Uncovered is a really fantastic book written by Katie Price. The story isn't in first person but the entire book is from Angel's perspective. So who is Angel?

Angel Summer is Britain's top glamour model, and to the outside world she has it all. She's young, rich, beautiful, married to superstar footballer Cal and has just given birth to a gorgeous daughter, Honey. But appearances can be deceiving and Angel's life is anything but perfect.

After having Honey, Angel feels like she hasn't bonded with her daughter, which leads to her feeling like an inadequate mother. Her husband Cal is transferred to Italy but Angel is reluctant to leave England, which causes a rift between them.

Angel discovers she has post-natal depression but when she tries to talk to Cal about it he dismisses her and accuses her of lying. After a mostly innocent night with another sports star, Cal then proceeds to accuse Angel of cheating; Angel returns to England a total mess.

When she overdoses on painkillers, she awakens in hospital. Cal has seen the light and is bent on fulfilling all her desires and for six months life is happy for Angel. She is then informed that CAL had cheated on HERand is enraged but eventually forgives Cal...until it is discovered that it was not only a one-night stand but a long affair. The situation is worsened when the press catch wind of the story.

Eventually, Angel realises that the man she truly loves is Ethan, the baseball star she spent the night with. So she goes back to him. Score one for Angel!
***
I loved this book. I thought it was brilliantly written and the plot was so real and the feelings so genuine I felt like I was right there. But I felt so frustrated reading the parts where Cal treated Angel like dirt and she just stood there and took it; I was like he has no right to be so rude! But I suppose she wasn't really in any position to stand up to him, given the whole post-natal depression thing. However, I suppose that's how I know it's a great book- it elicited reactions from me, I actually cared about what happened to Angel.

I thought it was a bit weird though how Angel knew she was madly in love with Ethan when they spent less than a week together, total. But I was still glad when she chose him over Cal, I don't think Cal deserved her and I'm pleased that she moved on with her life as opposed to wasting it by his side.

Go Angel!

Pretty Little Liars- Unbelieveable

In sincere little Rosewood, no one would ever expect the most sought after girl, the one with the flowing blond hair, the perfect smile and the perfect life, would hold the worst secrets.

Hanna, Spencer, Emily and Aria were her best friends and shared all their secrets with Ali DiLaurentis.

One cold night is memorable in the girls mind. That dark night when Ali DiLaurentis went missing.

Four years down the line these four unfortunate friends start receiving text messages from me, and you know what? I know all their secrets, ALL of them. And you would never believe what these naughty little girls get up to. Aria is secretly in love with her English teacher, Emily is questioning her sexuality, Spencer has gotten nominated for the Golden orchid, the highest English award in the country, and the nominated essay was the one which she stole of her sister. And Hanna? Well, lets just say she had a little accident. She knew to much so I had to do something or she would ruin all my fun. Yeah, i made a little mistake, sending it with my original number but I'm a very busy bee, very busy tormenting four mischievous teens. So I have an excuse.

And you know what the best part is? They don't have a clue who I am. There is a new A in town.

____________________________________________________________________

I LOVE this book. These books are the books I turn to when I need gossip and drama. Because you have to admit, everyone needs some juicy gossip one in a while and believe me, this is where you should look for it. I love the fact that A knows everything. Ones one of the girls do something wrong, A immediately send them a text, She is watching them ALL the time. My favourite text was when Hanna, in the last book got hit by a car that A was driving, and the text they all got was a chilling "she knew too much -A". I Love how the author made the stalker's trademark A. because when you are reading the book you are constantly looking for the someone with the letter A in it. but the problem is there are TONS! SO you are constantly guessing. In This book you find out who A is, but shh I wont tell ;)

Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire

1st post on the blog =)) (until mr. jaques came and make me edit it)

This is the 4th book of JK Rowling famous Harry Potter

This is the episode when Harry was chosen for Triwizard Tournament (three students from three magical school like Hogwarts)

The competitors from Hogwarts was Cedric Diggory and Harry was also chosen(mysteriously!). Harry was underage and didn't submit his name in the Goblet Of Fire and it was thought to be magically blocked. You just have to read the book to know it.

It is a very good book, we also have many people die (i.e Cedric Diggory) and we found more about Harry's past. You just have to read the book to know it.
